Welcome to my on-line weight loss journal. The purpose of this site is to record my progress in finally losing the weight which I've carried for so long. I'm 32 years old, 5'6" and weigh 198.5 lbs at the start of this journal (January, 2000). I have struggled with my weight for half of my life! After so many years of ups, downs and extremes, I have accepted the fact that I am responsible for my weight. That is what will make this time different than all of the other times in my life I have tried to lose weight. I am the only one who can cause me to fail.
UPDATE AUGUST 1, 2000
Has it really been over a month I've written??? I've really lapsed over the last few weeks. This is so much harder than I thought it would be when I started in January. It's a constant struggle - I have to watch myself constantly or I slip up and "hide" from my dieting. I am not giving up! Today begins the next of my 6 week phases.
